What to Expect

At Lighthouse, we feel that it’s OUR responsibility to make you feel welcome when you come to our church. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. We know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions. What should I wear? What’s available for my kids? What should I expect in church?

Here is a quick look at what you can expect when you come to visit our church.

  • A WARM WELCOME

At Lighthouse, we’ll make sure the first face you see when you approach the church has a smile on it. Whether you need infant care or are looking for a place for your children, a Greeter will be nearby to help you get where you need to go.
  • GREAT MUSIC

The service includes upbeat contemporary music with a worship team and a worship band. The services may also include quiet times of waiting in God’s presence, spiritually savoring the sacred atmosphere. Other times may be vocal with collective praise as worshippers are invited to spontaneously express love and adoration to God through vibrant and vocal praise, clapping, uplifting of hands and singing. Worship styles will reflect the spectrum of personalities. Some are quiet and reserved; some shout with joy; others are simply tender and openly emotional during times of praise or preaching. No sincere worshipper need feel out of place in an Assemblies of God church. And each expression will blend without disruption into the flow of worship.
  • AN ENCOURAGING MESSAGE

Each week you’ll enjoy an encouraging and passionate message from our Pastor that will help you deal with real life issues. What you learn on the weekend, you’ll be able to use during the week. We want to help you connect with the personal hope and practical help that God can give us.

The Offering is for those who are part of the Lighthouse family. Instead of wanting you to give something, we want you to get something!

  • ALTAR CALL

Often at the end of the service there is an opportunity for you to respond to the message by going up to the front of the church. This is called an altar call. We believe in the importance of responding to the message and allowing the Holy Spirit to touch your heart and life. Actually, many people come to the altar for a variety of reasons. In addition to responding to a message, many come for prayer for healing and personal needs. No one is coerced to come or made to feel guilty if they don’t.
  • DRESS

We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. So, dress casually and you’ll fit right in. People come in jeans and others come in suits. Most people wear slacks and a nice shirt. Come as you are and that will be just fine.
  • SAFE CHILDCARE

We know that as a parent you need be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached. There are screened, qualified, children’s workers that are excited to work with your kids. We have programs and ministries for children which include Nursery during all services for children ages 0 – 2.
  • CHILDREN’S SERVICE

Each Sunday morning we provide a full children’s service where children worship God. The “King’s Kids” are for the ages of 3-12 years old, and meet every Sunday morning following the worship segment of the adult service. Children’s church is divided into two groups, 3-6 years old, and 7-12 years old. Bible lessons, video’s, puppets, age-appropriate activities and snacks are all provided in a safe and exciting atmosphere, guided by loving leaders and helpers.
  • COMMUNION

Generally, on the first Sunday of the month we have Communion. Communion is a practice that is meant to be observed over and over throughout the life of a Christian. It is a holy time of worship when we corporately come together as one body to remember and celebrate what Christ did for us. We do not use wine. We use grape juice and matzos or wafers.
  • BAPTISMS

Once a quarter we hold water baptisms on Sunday Morning. In the New Testament, the significance of baptism is seen more clearly. John the Baptist was sent by God to spread the news of the coming Messiah-Jesus Christ. John was directed by God (John 1:33) to baptize those who accepted his message. John’s baptizing is called “a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.” Mark 1:4. We practice Baptism by Immersion.
  • YOU ARE WELCOME

If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, Lighthouse Christian Fellowship has you in mind! There’s already enough you have to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of this “stuff” out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has for you. We hope that you would be our guest this Sunday morning!
